The festival of Holi is celebrated with a lot of excitement, colours and togetherness. So why not steep teas of different colors and enjoy this festival even more.
Bhang Masala Chai- Make your masala chai a little bit more fun with just a dash of bhang in it. Mix bhang paste with milk. Add water to boil and add your spices like cinnamon, ginger, cardamom etc. Then add sugar and tea leaves. Add the bhang mixture and boil for a few more minutes. Enjoy!
Tea Cocktails- Enjoy your Holi party with some tea cocktails made from your favorite black teas, green teas, oolong teas or even Tisanes. Make your tea concoctions in advance and give your guests the liberty to add their favorite liquor to the tea mixture and enjoy!
After an entire day of festivities, when we are tired, a nice cup of tea will make you feel invigorated and bring back your excitement- a cup of tea for the soul !
Blue Pea- will give you a beautiful blue colour and purple if you add a dash of lemon or soda to it
Hibiscus- don’t we all love the vibrancy of red, steep hibiscus tea
Chamomile- sunshine shade of yellow is what brewing a cup of chamomile will give you
Lastly, no one can miss drinking thandai on Holi- it’s almost like a tradition in every Indian household. So we have a recipe of an Iced Tea Thandai for you.
Iced Tea Thandai
Black tea leaves or teabag
Ground black pepper
Poppy seeds (khus khus)
Fennel seeds crushed
Cardamom crushed or powder
Almonds coarsest crushed
Sugar
Few strands of saffron
Heat water and steep black tea or teabags for a few minutes. Strain. Add the rest of the ingredients (except the saffron and almonds) to the tea brew and cool it in the refrigerator. Before serving, strain this mixture, add lots of ice and few strands of saffron and almonds and serve.
Or for a quick drink brew the tea, strain and cool. Before serving add some ready made thandai to the tea brew, add some crushed ice, saffron and almond flakes and serve.
